I have been vegan since 2010. This means refraining from eating any animal products (meat, dairy, eggs). In addition to this I typically avoid processed food, sugar, “junk food,” etc. My diet consists of whole delicious foods from the earth! It absolutely changed my life in the most positive way possible. The benefits far outweigh any inconvenience:
- Physical: you feel better! You experience fewer illnesses, better digestion, and it will be easier to achieve/maintain a healthy weight. You will also likely achieve better health & longevity in the long term. You will be less likely to develop heart diseases, diabetes, cancer, etc.
- Environmental: a vegan diet is way better for the environment
- Ethical: your money is not supporting the inhumane practices of factory farming nor are you responsible for the abuse & death of animals!
- Emotional: you feel good about what you’re eating…and what you’re not eating! You know you are doing your part to take care of yourself, the animals and the planet!
This site should help you along your journey, whether you are simply looking to add a few vegan recipes to your repertoire or are already an experienced vegan. I make almost everything from scratch, but that can be intimidating at first! If you are just starting out, take it one step at a time!
